Beanbags from Blob

Depending on the fabric they are made of, beanbags require various levels of maintenance and care. A general rule of thumb is that the sturdier the fabric, the longer the lifetime. Sturdier fabrics also tend to be easier to maintain and require less care. In general beanbags in darker colors will show marks and stains less that lighter colored fabrics.

Vinyl/Suede/PVC
Industrial strength vinyl: this fabric is generally used for upholstery application, it is usually thick and strong, it should last at least over ten years and resist general abuse from kids or pets (although biting is definitely not recommended). They are easy to clean as a spray and tissue usually do the trick. If the stain is really resistant, an aerosol such as 3M™ Citrus Base.
Upholstery suede: This kind of suede is generally very thick and soft and in case of stain can usually be cleaned with a suede cleaner. It is also used as an upholstery item for very expensive furniture.
PVC is not usually as thick as Vinyl and Suede but is still strong and easy to clean.

Drill Cottons, Nylons
These fabrics can be easily washed in the washing machine, however you need to be aware that removing the beans can be a real struggle. The little polystyrene balls can go everywhere and are not easy to reinsert in the bag or store. We strongly recommend the use of a removable liner with machine washable fabrics. The liner acts as a "bladder" inside beanbags containing all the beans so that they are easy to remove and reinsert.

Corduroy
Corduroy can be machine washed, however one thing to be aware of with this fabric is its tendency to rip at the seam. The best corduroy beanbag are lined with a non stretchable fabric which allows the beanbag to retain its shape and prevent from ripping in the stress areas. This fraying problem is also an issue with faux fur but can easily be solved with the aforementioned lining.

Denim
The important thing with denim beanbags is to make sure that the denim used is pre washed and shrunk to minimize the risk of dye running off (especially bad when you have a white carpet) and a major change of appearance once machine washed.

Faux fur beanbags
These are best dry cleaned or hand washed, machine washing them can give the hair a shaggy appearance. If you want a beanbag chair for rough usage we suggest you stay away from this one as it is fairly delicate.
